Overview of the Permalinks Page

From the Dashboard

Step 1- Under the Settings, Click Permalinks

1. Common Links – there are several options for built in link structures.  – we actually recommend using a custom structure /%category%/%postname%/.  Example : http://www.wp-clique.com/resources/glossary-of-wordpress-and-web-terms/, this adds to your keywords and search engine optimization.

Just keep in mind there is the potential of conflicts if you create two posts with the same names, wordpress will be confused and not know which post to use. The advantage of using this permalink structure is that is much more user readable and more Search engine friendly.  Avoid problems by always using unique titles.

Step 2 – Once you have completed your updates, Click Save Changes
